Best Beginning of the School Year Tip

One of my best beginning of the school year tips came from a teacher's magazine, some time ago. It said that the first day of school, you tell the students that they may sit anywhere that they want. You also tell them that after the first two days of school, you will have a seating chart for them.

The logic behind this is that students tend to gravitate to the students they probably shouldn't be sitting next to. In the first two days you can discover a majority of the seating combinations that might be problematic and avoid that. This strategy allows the teacher a better opportunity to structure the seating chart to maximize the greatest opportunity for success!

Books Created by Children Below

The children who created these books wanted any money made from the sale of their books to be donated to the less fortunate. I explained things on this site are free, but I could include a few direct links to charities. Any charity would work, but it's not obligatory!
